Habitat for Humanity of Broward (Habitat) in partnership with the City of Pompano Beach and JM Family Enterprises, celebrated the dedication of four new, single-family, affordable homes in the Collier City neighborhood of Pompano Beach. The four homes are part of an innovative 12 home partnership between Habitat, the CRA, and the City of Pompano Beach to revitalize Collier City, remove blighted vacant lots, reduce crime, and deliver an affordable home ownership opportunity to the community. Nine of the 12 lots were deeded to Habitat by the CRA for the construction of affordable single-family homes. Habitat purchased three other lots privately. The four homes being dedicated were sponsored by JM Family Enterprises, bringing it to 43 in total Habitat homes the company has sponsored thus far. The new homes and various improvements to the Collier City neighborhood are the result of a master plan for the revitalization of the area initiated by the CRA. City improvements under the plan include infrastructure and streetscape improvements, street lighting upgrades, landscaping, and the building of a new Broward Sheriff’s Office substation at the Southwest corner of NW 27th Avenue and NW 4th Court.
