The governor recently signed the Florida State budget and over the past two years we were able to secure and deliver over three million dollars for the City of Lighthouse Point. These projects include: City of Lighthouse Point-Stormwater Drainage, Sample Road Bridge, 31st Court Bridge, NE 21st Drainage Project, as well as funding for Parks and Recreation and the Lighthouse Point Library in the budget. These projects are vital to our city and I am happy to work hard up in Tallahassee to bring these important dollars back to our community.
My Safe Florida Home update: There have been a lot of articles about the My Safe Florida Home program. The program has not run out of funds for grants. As a matter of fact, the program was funded to $200 million in this year’s budget through the bill that we ran. The funds that have been mentioned are for the initial inspections. The program still has funds to provide Floridians with home hardening grants. Over the past two years, I have been honored to run legislation on this program and I will continue to work hard to make improvements that allow Floridians to invest in hardening their homes, making them more resilient. You can find more information about the program at www.mysafeflhome.com. If you have any questions, you can contact my office and we would be happy to assist you.
As always, it is an honor to serve you as your State Representative in Tallahassee.
