American Heritage Schools raised a record-breaking total of $75,000 at its Fifth Annual Heroes concert benefiting the Lighthouse of Broward and the blind and visually individuals it serves. This year’s Heroes event featured a vibrant 1950s Prom theme with nostalgic décor, energetic performances, and deeply meaningful moments showcasing the impact of the Lighthouse of Broward’s important work.
“This partnership is extremely important to me both personally and professionally,” said José Lopez Masso, Vice President VP of Public Affairs & Government Relations at the Lighthouse of Broward. “As a blind person who is a Lighthouse executive as well as a father of an American Heritage student, I am strongly connected to both organizations. I am so proud of American Heritage for supporting the blind community, and I am very honored to be a part of the Lighthouse team – I know personally how it transforms lives. I am extremely grateful for this partnership on all levels.” Lopez, along with Lighthouse President and CEO Ellyn Drotzer, offered huge thank you’s to Clay Cartland, American Heritage Schools’ Fine Arts Director, who served as emcee and showcased his exceptional musical talent, as well as the Laurie family, the American Heritage faculty and students, and the entire Heroes committee for their generous contribution of time, talent and resources.
