Are The Dolphins Swimming Around In A Circle
by Larry Turner

Following the 2025 NFL draft, most articles about the Dolphins have focused on the weak performance by the coach and management and other issues that have caused the locker room to be out of control, to be kind.

A greater concern to write about is management’s inability to develop an effective offensive line. This is not a new problem; it has existed for years. If this continues, the team won’t see a Super Bowl for a long time.

A quick judgment regarding the quality of the current roster is that there are many new names but at first glance there would not appear to be sufficient improvement to be able to field a competitive team. Specifically, there are still many questions about the quarterback, the offensive line as we said, and the effectiveness of the coaching staff in getting consistent effort from the team.

There is no question that, whenever several changes in personnel are made, it takes playing together for several games before the true character of the team can be gleaned. Only then can we make some meaningful assessments of the players and coaching staff. This may be the last season for some players, and coaches as well.

Let me conclude by saying that many things written about the staff have been harsh, maybe too harsh. To say someone has no backbone, or that they’re afraid of the people they coach, or that someone is a pushover is a bit over-the-top, but nonetheless it would be prudent for those in question to listen to the critics whether or not they are accurate in their assessments.
