Legislative Session For 2026
by Chip LaMarca

As we go into the 2026 Legislative Session, Team 100 will land in Tallahassee ready to represent our community and South Florida’s essential issues for this year. Hurricane Season will be winding down soon, but we ask you to remain vigilant and stay updated. You can visit www.nhc.noaa.gov for current news on all storm activity. As always, be sure to follow the instructions of local and county officials regarding evacuation and other updates.

I am committed to working with my colleagues and continue to work on lowering the cost of property insurance. This is the number one issue that I am asked about when speaking to residents. Working with members in both the house and senate, I am focused on how we can make Florida the most affordable place to live. While the legislature has made reforms over the past few years, there is still work to do. We have reformed the state’s litigation process, lowering the impact of frivolous lawsuits that affect every property owner. Additionally, we have expanded the reinsurance market so that we can provide more competition and help lower the cost for homeowners.
