The Holiday Season has come to an end and Team 100 is back in Tallahassee for the start of the 2026 Legislative Session. This Legislative Session is not like the rest, as it marks my final session serving as your State Representative due to term limits. It truly has been one of the greatest honors of my life to represent and serve our community. Before I continue, I would like to thank the publisher and the team at The Light Magazine for all of your hard work in making this magazine possible. As a contributor to the magazine since the beginning, and as a reader, I appreciate the content you provide to our local community and all the information shared throughout my time as your State Representative. For one last session, I am committed to representing you on our community and South Florida’s important issues.
With property insurance being a leading concern for Florida residents, we are seeing significant numbers of companies choose to enter the Florida market. This is due to the legal reforms made in recent years, but there is still more to do. I am dedicated to working with my colleagues and focusing on lowering these costs. A designated House Select Committee on Property Taxes has been created and eight tax proposals have been proposed and I look forward to talking with my colleagues in the Florida House and Senate to see how we can lower costs for homeowners, while allowing local governments the ability to provide the critical services we all expect.
I have filed appropriations for all of our cities and these projects span six different silos of the appropriations committees. We are working diligently to secure a significant share of funding for our communities as this makes a meaningful and lasting impact. I am grateful for your support throughout these past eight years in Tallahassee, as well as the eight years prior on the Broward County Commission, and my time on the Lighthouse Point City Commission. I appreciate our feedback on the challenges that our community faces, and our ability to always work together.
As always, it is an honor to serve you as your State Representative in Tallahassee.
